Volunteering @ CPL

Before I close down the "Make a Difference Book Club" blog I wanted to reach out to you all one more time.

We could really use your help during the summer.  Tasks range from making popcorn for Friday movies to helping to prepare experiments for science camp. Think confirmation, honor society, community serve hours.

Here is a very last minute opportunity,  we could use someone between 5'3" and 5'7" to wear the Piggie (half of Mo Willems' popular Elephant and Piggie duet) costume.  The event is this Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00.  The costumes are big, hot and heavy so there are many breaks.  If two of you would like to volunteer the person wearing the Elephant costume needs to be between 5'8" and 6' tall.
If anyone is interested contact me ASAP.

Hope you had a great school year and here's to a WONDERFUL summer!

Causeway by Colleen P. Baird

I am sending this post out to everyone, in case you did not receive my text yesterday.  When Janet was here the book club proofed a draft of a novel being written by Colleen Baird.  Well Ms Baird stopped by a couple of days ago with copies of her new novel Causeway as a way to thank you for your input.

Your lives are probably very busy, but I thought it would be nice to get together to hand out the books.  If you are interested, we could meet next Wednesday April 3rd @ 6:30.  Another possibility is before the next Teen Lock In.  The lock in will be Monday, April 8th from 5:30 to 8:30 for the showing of  "Les Mis".  I know Rachael won't be here next week so maybe the 8th would be best.

It would be great for all of us to read Causeway then discuss what changes/improvements the author made.

Happy Spring!

It has been a looong time

Hello to all and happy March snow.

Would you like to get together and catch up?  Best time for me would be Wednesday, 4/13 @ 6:45.  I would like to have another lock in during either vacation week or the following week during National Library Week. I could really use your input on what would be fun to do. So bring ideas.

Let me know if you can make it. If you would rather text me my cell # is  973-980-5194.

Enjoy your weekend!

How is everyone?

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing.  We are scheduled to meet next Wednesday, December 19th @ 6:45.  West Essex is having their holiday concert that night, so Hannah and Katie won't be able to come. Who can come next Wednesday? Please let me know so we can reschedule if needed.

Is anyone reading this month's book, Sweetness at the bottom of the pie?  I still have copies if you need one.

Enjoy the holiday season!

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, December 19th @ 6:45 pm.  Should it be holiday themed?

Stay warm!

No Internet @ CPL

The storms are over, so let's get back to book club!  If possible we will meet this Wednesday, November 14th @ 6:45 pm.

The library lost its internet after last week's snow storm.  I'll follow up with a text to those who gave me their numbers.  Let me know by text or by phone call to the library if you can come.
