How is everyone?

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing.  We are scheduled to meet next Wednesday, December 19th @ 6:45.  West Essex is having their holiday concert that night, so Hannah and Katie won't be able to come. Who can come next Wednesday? Please let me know so we can reschedule if needed.

Is anyone reading this month's book, Sweetness at the bottom of the pie?  I still have copies if you need one.

No Internet @ CPL

The storms are over, so let's get back to book club!  If possible we will meet this Wednesday, November 14th @ 6:45 pm.

The library lost its internet after last week's snow storm.  I'll follow up with a text to those who gave me their numbers.  Let me know by text or by phone call to the library if you can come.

Fall Book Club Starting

Happy fall to all!

Next week we will have our first fall meeting. Please come with a head full of ideas and an arm full of friends.  I would like to plan another lock in, maybe a mystery party? If you can't make it let me know if you are still interested in participating.

End of Summer

Catching the last rays of summer? Is anyone back in Caldwell?  If you are around, I would love to visit and hear about your summer and thoughts for the fall.  We still haven't talked about Jenna Fox and Patrick has all those author emails.

Why don't we try to get together next Wednesday, August 22 @ 7:00?  Let me know if you are around and would like to meet.

Monday Lock In Reminder

Is everyone tired of the heat yet?  Hope you have been to the pool, ocean, lake...

Monday night, July 9th, is the lock in.  It starts @ 6:00 pm, since the library closes @ 5:00 I am going to ask you to enter through the downstair's door.  If your parents don't come in with you make sure they know you are @ the library until 10:00 pm. No one leaves without a parent coming in to pick you up.

If you can not get here by 6:00 just send me a text when you are on your way and I will meet you @ the door to let you in.

Own the Night Lock In Dates

Happy end of school!

Keeping with this summer's teen theme our lock ins are now Own the Night Locks Ins!  The first one is Monday, July 9th and the second is Monday, August 6th. Both will run from 6:00 to 10:00.

July 9th will be a movie marathon. Send any ideas you would like me to consider.  On the 9th we will decide what we want to do on August 6th. Possibilities are: another movie night, Wii party games night, murder mystery night or any other reasonable idea.  So put your thinking caps on.

Do you want to discuss the book on July 9th or on July 17 in the afternoon or evening?  Let me know ASAP.

Summer Dates

Scheduling meetings in the summer is crazy hard because of vacations. So let's give it another try.  Would July 3rd work for book club?  How about July 9th or July 23rd for movie lock in?

Next Book Club

As usual our last meeting was a loud one, but I think I heard you would like to read the Adoration of Jenna Fox.  I'll be ordering copies and will let you know when they are available.

Let's look at some summer dates:

June 27th @ 6:45 for our next book club
July 16th @ 6:00 for a movie marathon lock in?
August 13th @ 6:00 for another movie or activity lock in?

I am so glad we can get together on Tuesday (May 29th) @ 6:45.  I loved the book even though I cried through parts of it.  There is lots to talk about; summer plans, blog, books...

On Tuesday afternoon I will try to send a reminder text to all who sent me their cell numbers.

May Meeting?

May is almost half over so I thought if we wanted to have a May meeting it is time to start planning.
The best day would be Tuesday, May 29th.  Please let me know if you can make it that day.  If you can't give me a day that you could come.

We will talk about The Fault in Our Stars, the Hunger Games- book vs movie, and whether you would like to have same events this summer.

Well ladies and gentleman, there was a book club meeting this past Wednesday (4/18) which Hannah and I spent chatting.  I am wondering two things:

1. What happened to the rest of the people who said they could come?
2.  Is there a better way of communicating with the group?

If it is alright will your parents, you can give me your cell phone numbers.  I will use them only to remind you of upcoming meetings.  And, you will use them only to let me know if you can or can not make our meeting.
Think about it and let me know how we should proceed.

Also should I still order The Fault in our Stars?

It's been a long time!

Hello everyone,

As the title said "It's been a long time." and I was wondering if any/all of you would like to get together?

Patrick has been busy giving me book suggestions, so I thought we should read The Fault in our Stars from his list. FYI Janet loved it too. Copies will be ordered and I will let you know when they're in.

Why don't we meet the week after school vacation? I would like to schedule for either Wednesday, April 18th or Thursday, April 19th. If you would like to come let me know which day works best for you. I wouldn't schedule anything until I hear from you.

I thought I would bring my laptop and all of us could update the blog. Also copies of the book will be available for those who want them.

I need to send back the extra Dead End in Norvelt books to their home libraries. If you would like to read it you will need to read our copy.

Movie Viewing

Mark your calendar, or should I say put it in your phone, Tuesday, February 28th starting @ 6:00 we'll watch the Help. The Help is up for the best movie oscar and since the oscars will be held on February 26th we can decide if we agree with Hollywood's decision.

I thought since the movie needs to start early we should make it into a pizza movie night. Remember parents, siblings and friends are welcome to join us. Please let me know if you're coming and if you're bringing anyone. I want to be sure we have enough pizza!

The movie will be over by 8:30.

The Help

At our last meeting we talked about watching the Help movie. The running time is about 2 1/2 hours. Let me know what you would like to do- I could schedule it for February 28 starting at 6:00 or we could schedule a matinee during break. I know Hannah will be away during break and I am not sure if everyone has off. Let me know what you want to do.

Book Club Tonight

Hello to all,
For those who are available we will meet tonight to discuss the Help. We will also discuss the whether we should schedule the Help movie watching meeting for next month. Maybe we should invite the moms?

I need to find a way of communicating with all of you. Think about whether we should try texting.

One more thing, Michelle can not come on Wednesday nor Thursday nights during basketball season, so we should think about another meeting time.

Night Tourist

Well, are you waiting for snow or are you waiting for warm sun? No matter what you are waiting for, are you enjoying the Help?

This is a reminder that our are next meeting is next Wednesday, January 25th. I know Katie has a winter concert at school, Hannah do you have the same concert? Hope everyone had a great holiday and vacation. Now that you  are back to school, does it feel like you never had vacation?

How is the Help reading going?  It is such a powerful story and what strong women!  The next book club meeting will be JANUARY 25TH @ 6:45.  I think it is still hot chocolate weather don't you?  At our meeting we can discuss if everyone would like to watch the Help movie.  Maybe we could open the viewing up to friends and parents.
